Where Are We? -

Benderloch

The West Coast of Scotland has some of the most spectacular scenery in Europe. Benderloch is on the shores of Loch Linnhe, a long arm of the Atlantic reaching up from Oban to Fort William and Ben Nevis. The area is one of unrivalled seascapes, a haunting blend of sea, hills and islands. The gulf stream keeps these waters warmer than might be expected and the clean, clear air and profusion of wildlife brings visitors back to this area year after year.

Set in quiet countryside just 200 metres from the shore, Port Selma Lodges overlook the hills of the Morvern peninsula and spectacular sunsets over the Isle of Mull. They are set in a secluded location only two minutes walk from the small village of Benderloch, which has a large general store (Munro's 'Pink Shop'), a post office, petrol station and restaurant.

Behind the village the forested lower slopes of Ben Lora provide some beautiful woodland walks, while a more energetic climb to the top will offer one of the best views for miles around.

The village is on the main A828 Oban to Fort William road, just eight miles North of the busy ferry port of Oban with its connections to the Hebrides. Oban has every shop a holiday-maker could wish for, from large supermarkets to bookshops and woollen shops. To the North the road takes you to beautiful Port Appin or onwards to Ballachulish and the spectacular mountains of Glencoe.
